Replacement parts for Leslie 122 and 147 rotary speakers: drive belt sets, rotor motors, 800 Hz 16-ohm crossovers and crossover capacitors. Read the leslie speaker parts guide
Leslie 122 and 147 cabinets are built around the same mechanics: the same cabinet, upper horn rotor, lower bass rotor, 15-inch 16-ohm bass speaker, 800 Hz 16-ohm crossover and a 40-watt tube amplifier with two 6550 output tubes. That means most wear parts, such as drive belts, rotor motors and crossover capacitors, fit either model. This section collects those service parts in one place.
Belts stretch and glaze over time, which shows up as slow or uneven speed changes between chorale and tremolo. Crossover capacitors drift with age and upset the balance between the horn and the bass speaker. Motors and bearings get noisy if they're never oiled. Replacing these parts is usually a straightforward bench job with basic hand tools.
The one place the 122 and 147 differ is the amplifier input and speed switching. The 122 has a balanced input made for console organs such as the B-3, C-3 and A-100, while the 147 has an unbalanced input. Parts listed for the rotors and crossover fit both, but cables and connector kits are model-specific; see Cables & connectors before you plug anything in.
Mechanical parts such as drive belts, rotor motors and the 800 Hz 16-ohm crossover are shared between the 122 and 147. The amplifier input and speed-switching circuits differ, so connector kits and cables are not interchangeable. Each listing states which models it fits.
Common signs are slow or uneven ramp-up between slow and fast, a rotor that slips or stalls, and belts that look shiny, cracked or loose. Replace the upper and lower belts together so both rotors respond evenly.
It splits the amplifier's signal at about 800 Hz, sending highs to the horn driver and lows to the 15-inch bass speaker, both at 16 ohms. Old crossover capacitors drift in value, which can make the horn sound dull or harsh.
Yes. The 122 was designed for console organs like the B-3, C-3 and A-100. Most consoles need a console connector kit and the right cable to drive it and switch speeds, so check the Cables & connectors section.
